AXA Insurance has appointed ex-Towergate Underwriting personal lines boss Nel Mooy as head of travel for its intermediated and corporate partnership arm.

In her new role Mooy will be responsible for developing and rolling out AXA’s travel strategy.

This will include distribution and pricing, and developing existing and new partnerships.

Mooy will report directly into AXA Insurance managing director of personal intermediary and corporate partner Laurent Matras.

Mooy re-joins AXA following six years at Towergate Underwriting where she held a series of senior roles.

Prior to that, she spent nine years at AXA where she held the role of head of direct marketing and offer.

Mooy’s appointment follows the formation of AXA Insurance from 1 January which combines the commercial lines and personal intermediary and the personal direct and partnerships businesses into one general insurance unit.

Commenting on Mooy’s appointment Matras said: “It’s great to be able to welcome Nel back to AXA. She will have gained significant experience during her time at Towergate and she joins us at the perfect time as we bring the new, unified AXA Insurance offering to our customers and partners.

“It is important that we not only have the best products and services but the best people too and I’m confident that in Nel, we have an excellent leader and strategist who can deliver a market-leading proposition to brokers and partners.”
