Arista Insurance, the commercial lines underwriting operation, said it was planning significant expansion into the north of England in 2008, starting with the opening of an office in Manchester this month.
MMA rating increases
The financial strength rating of insurer MMA has been increased to ‘A’ from ‘A-‘ by Standard & Poor’s, reflecting the financial and trading strength of the company’s parent. The UK insurer is owned by MMA IARD Assurances Mutuelles, a leading French general insurer.
Swinton buys motor broker
Swinton acquired commercial insurance broker Andinsure with a GWP of £8m. Andinsure is a niche player in motor trade insurance.
