Royal & SunAlliance is the insurer of the Cutty Sark, the nineteenth century tea clipper that was gutted by a fire on Monday, Insurance Times has learned.
Brokers Hayes Parsons and Willis placed cover for the charity Cutty Sark Trust, which operates the London landmark. The sum insured has not been disclosed.
The trust has yet to assess the full extent of the damage. About 50% of the ship had been removed before the fire for repairs.
