Open GI and Zurich are set to launch the first Imarket integrated commercial combined product, exclusively for Countrywide network members.

The product is currently in pilot and will be rolled out over the coming weeks to brokers who are part of the network and who use Open GI 's OASys Commercial trading platform.

The software house said other insurers would shortly be following Zurich's lead and integrating their own commercial combined products with Open GI and Imarket.

Peter Knowles, strategy and marketing director at Polaris, said the move was "a major step forward" for Imarket and was likely to drive take-up among brokers.

Knowles said: "Commercial combined is a key product for Imarket. While the launch of Shops and Offices has been a success, brokers are telling us they want access to wider and more complex products."

Mark Ryder, commercial director, Open GI, said the move marked "the start of a series of Open GI Imarket-related announcements".

David Smith, market management director, Zurich Commercial and Municipal, said: "It gives us the capacity to trade electronically on a key business line with a large number of commercial brokers - improving the level of service we provide."
