FirstAssist has announced the sale of its private medical insurance business to Standard Life Healthcare.

The deal is for an undisclosed sum, subject to FSA and court approval and a formal portfolio transfer.

The sale will involve the transfer of the company's 280 employees at its Marshall Point offices in Bournemouth to Standard Life Healthcare. All current contracts and the Bournemouth premises will also be transferred to Standard Life Healthcare when the sale is completed during the first quarter of 2006.

As part of the acquisition, Standard Life Healthcare has also announced its plans to move its head office operations, currently located in Guildford, to Marshall Point, Bournemouth, within the next two years.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
