The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has urged the government to address the liability problems being enudured by small business.

The FSB is concerned that the deteriorating insurance market for small businesses is hampering exporters who cannot get liability cover.

The FSB also called for an urgent inquiry into the growth of no win no fee litigation.

FSB chairman John Emmins blasted insurers, claiming that poor health and safety regimes are not inflating premiums.

Emmins claimed that many small firms are seeking liability insurance cover but cannot find a product on the market.
