Garwyn promotes Nigel Smith to head up Newport

Liability adjuster Garwyn Group has promoted Nigel Smith to head up its South West operations based in Newport as branch manager.

Smith has been with Garwyn for seven years and moves into the role from assistant manager.

Smith will be responsible for a team of 12.

Nick Patterson, commercial director for Garwyn, said: “This promotion is very well deserved. Nigel has built a fantastic reputation amongst our clients in the South West region of the UK.

"He brings specific experience in the construction sector which is of immense value to our growing base of insurer clients serving this industry sector.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
