I read the article by Anika Bourley "Insurers to enforce gas safety" with interest (News, 21 September).
The all party parliamentary gas safety group of MPs want insurers and mortgage companies to require all homes to have carbon monoxide detectors with audible warnings to a British or European standard before any cover or money lending is agreed.
Smoke detectors were also mentioned as being necessary before agreements were made.
We would be delighted to hear from any insurers or mortgage companies that would agree to undertake these requirements, particularly with regard to carbon monoxide detectors.
