Chris Collins to retire after six years

Chris Collins, head of insurance at the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, has announced he will retire in the Autumn.

He will be replaced by Michael Oliver, current head of insurance at the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission.

Collins, who has served in the role for six years, will vacate the position in October.

Oliver has over 30 years experience in the industry, including a stint the FSA as well as numerous senior positions at insurers in the US. He joined the BVI FSC in 2003.

In a statement he said: “I look forward to using my insurance industry and regulatory experience to support the sector’s continued growth and to take forward the work of my predecessors in developing our regulatory regime,”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
