Mark Holliday has joined Miller Insurance Services as a director - global assets.

Holliday, an experienced and respected property broker, will specialise in the property broking area.

RK Harrison
RK Harrison Insurance Brokers has appointed Steve Thornett as the new head of its UK commercial operations.

Thornett was formerly managing director of Heath Lambert's southern region and national public sector businesses.

Thornett, who has more than 20 years' national broker experience, will assume responsibility for all aspects of the UK commercial division.

Marsh
Marsh has expanded its client servicing team in the North West with two new appointments in Liverpool.

Gabrielle Doyle and Caroline Thomas have joined Marsh's newly-launched risk trading practice.

Doyle joins the company from Griffiths & Armour, where she was a development executive.

Thomas joins from RK Harrison in Chester, where she was a client executive.

Heath Lambert
Barry Lidford has joined Heath Lambert's transportation division.

Lidford joins as an account executive specialising in the rail and logistics sectors.

Prior to joining Heath Lambert transportation, Lidford was a transportation specialist with Aon.

L&E Title Insurance
Gilles Avenel is London & European Title Insurance's new chairman.

Avenel has more than 30 years' experience in the banking and insurance industries, the past 10 of which have been spent in executive and non-executive board roles.

Liberty International
Richard Mason has been appointed to lead Liberty International Underwriters' (LIU) professional indemnity drive in the South West region.

Mason joins LIU - a division of Liberty Mutual Group - from Royal & SunAlliance, where he was senior technical underwriter - professional and financial risks.

He has 20 years' experience in the insurance industry.

Illium Managing Agency
Illium Managing Agency has appointed David Feldman as compliance officer and company secretary.

Feldman joins from Brit Insurance, where he was deputy head of the internal audit and review division and, prior to that, head of underwriting review.

Feldman also spent three years as regulatory officer in Lloyd's underwriting agents department.

Cardiff Pinnacle
Cardiff Pinnacle has appointed Carl Oakes as a business development manager of its mortgage intermediary team.

Oakes joined Cardiff Pinnacle from MBNA, having previously worked for the HBOS group.

He is now working in a dedicated mortgage intermediary team which develops creditor insurance solutions through mortgage intermediary networks, insurers and technology partners.

Impact Underwriting
Impact Underwriting has appointed Katherine Newberry as accident and health underwriter.

Prior to joining Impact, Newberry was employed for 14 years with Royal & Sun Alliance in its West End and Leadenhall Street personal accident departments.

She also worked for Groupama insurance as a senior underwriter in the City and as an accident and health technical, pricing and operations manager in Tonbridge, Kent.

Allianz Cornhill
Darren Wills has been appointed claims handling centre manager at Allianz Cornhill, based in Milton Keynes.

Wills has spent the past three years as a self-employed consultant in the general insurance market, working with small to medium-sized insurers on process and claims re-engineering projects.

He has more than 14 years' experience in the insurance industry, which includes working in technical, operational and development roles.

DAS
Alex Manning has been promoted to corporate partnerships manager at DAS Legal Expenses Insurance.

Manning has been with DAS for 16 years, the first nine in underwriting.

He switched to broker sales in 1999 and took responsibility for the south-eastern area.

Three years ago, Manning joined the corporate partnerships team at the Bristol head office, and he now has senior responsibility for developing relationships with insurers and volume intermediaries.

Goodhealth Worldwide
Goodhealth Worldwide has appointed Kieran Watts as its director of global claims and procurement.

Watts has more than14 years' experience in the private healthcare sector.

Initially with BMI Hospitals as business development manager, he moved to BCWA Healthcare to manage provider contracts and cost containment in 1994. He subsequently joined Clinicare, then left in 2005 to study for an MBA.

Medisure
Medisure - the health risk specialist within Marsh - has appointed Cath Applin as senior insurer case manager.

Applin will be responsible for clinical case management services supporting Medisure's new insurer case management proposition.

Applin is a qualified occupational therapist and has worked extensively in the UK and Australia in rehabilitation case management and consultant roles.

Primary Broker Services
A "unique chance to join a proactive company where good ideas are actively encouraged and quickly implemented" is how Roy Evans describes his appointment at Primary Broker Services (PBS).

Evans has joined PBS's Scottish underwriting team as a commercial underwriter.

His new role will encompass existing business and renewals, in addition to strategic project work.

"This seemed a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new and dynamic operation starting in Scotland," Evans says.

Evans joins PBS from AXA, where he was commercial new business underwriter in the Glasgow office. His responsibilities at AXA focused on national brokers and the Willis Network intermediaries.

Prior to this, he spent 10 years at Royal & SunAlliance, where he worked both in the South and in Scotland. He worked in a variety of roles, but the majority of his time with the insurer was spent underwriting new business in Glasgow for the banks and the local Scottish broker market.

Evans lives in Glasgow with his wife, Julie, who is expecting their third child.

His interests include films and football.
