Allianz Cornhill Legal Protection appoints Dobie

Allianz Cornhill Legal Protection has appointed Peter Dobie as underwriting manager.

With more than 25 years' experience in the insurance industry, predominantly within legal expenses, Dobie has worked for Royal & SunAlliance, DAS and most recently for Wren Insurance Services.

In his current newly created position, Dobie's primary role is to lead and develop the underwriting team.

Who's moving where

NIG
NIG has appointed Adrian Johnson as underwriting manager for the personal division.

He has more than 21 years' experience and most recently worked as Avon commercial integration manager for NIG, having held a variety of roles at Avon.

Groupama Healthcare
Groupama Healthcare has appointed Philip Whitelock as senior healthcare development underwriter for the Southern region and Mark Allen as senior healthcare development underwriter for the Northern region.

Whitelock joins from Medisure where he was business development underwriter. Allen brings many years of development experience within the UK healthcare market, following a successful career at BCWA and BUPA.

CNA
Kevin Docherty and Andy Lane have joined CNA's London cargo underwriting team. Both have extensive experience in the field of marine cargo insurance and will work to further enhance CNA's position as a leading market for UK based cargo risks.

Phil Mayes has joined CNA as a property/casualty underwriter. He joins from corporate broker Wilby , where he was development manager. Previously he operated as senior underwriter for St Paul UK, before establishing and managing a technology underwriting unit for St Paul, Holland.

Paul Naylor has joined the company as a risk control surveyor, based in its Manchester office. Naylor joins CNA from St Paul Insurance where he worked as a risk manager for the past six years.

XL London Market
XL London Market Ltd (XLLM), an XL Capital company, has appointed Neil Stocker as fine art & specie claims adjuster.

NFU Mutual
NFU Mutual has appointed Richard Percy as a non-executive director on the main board. He has farmed in Hertfordshire for more than 20 years and runs his own agricultural consultancy business. He is also a director of Apsley Developments.

Combined Insurance
Combined Insurance, the specialist provider of health and accident insurance, has appointed Helen Trendell to the new role of internet marketing executive.

Trendell joins the Kingston-based company with a strong background in online marketing, having previously worked for The Fyfe Group (group of five insurance companies) developing the group's website and devising and implementing an online marketing strategy for all group companies.

Loss Recovery Group
Underwriting agency, Loss Recovery Group (LRG) has announced the appointments of four new staff to join its regional broker business development team.

Andrew Yemm is appointed as business development executive for LRG's South West region. He joins LRG from Royal & SunAlliance (RSA) where he was a broker business manager.

Marcus Copping is appointed as business development executive for the Northern region. He joins LRG from AIG Europe where he had a development underwriting role.

Joanne Ward is appointed business development executive - Midlands region. She joins LRG from Willis where she worked as an account director.

Lee Bennett is appointed as sales support for the Northern region. Bennett joins LRG from the Benfield Group.

insurE-com
insurE-com is strengthening its specialist teams and has appointed a non-executive director and is increasing its sales division with the addition of six new sales personnel.

Dr Sam Kingston, previously senior vice president of Oracle Consulting, joins as a non-executive director.

All the senior management team at insurE-com have a strong background in the insurance industry.

Business manager Phil Grainger, assumes responsibility for driving the sales of insur-E.office and insur-E.tam, as well as insurE-com's other products and services.

Joe Sultana's extensive experience of working for intermediaries will be used to head up post- sales activities and will co-ordinate and manage insurE-com's regional account executives who provide first point contact for insurE-com customers throughout the UK.

National Accident Helpline
National Accident Helpline has appointed John Rutter as business development director. His role is to develop strategies to create new opportunities for a panel of 125 solicitor firms nationwide through business to business channels.

He joins the company from medical agency Expedia where he was sales & marketing director.

IPS Group
IPS Group has appointed Ciara McKee as senior consultant. McKee will concentrate on the commercial insurance sector, complementing the efforts of Robert Plant who will now focus on the claims and personal lines areas in the North West.

McKee joins IPS from Joslin Rowe and brings with her three years' insurance recruitment experience having formerly worked as a commercial/corporate broker.

Company focus
MMA makes four new senior appointments and looks to make more

Intermediary-only insurer MMA Insurance has announced a number of new senior appointments and is currently recruiting for further senior positions.

Clare Tilly joins MMA as sales and marketing manager to lead all thebusiness development, key account and marketing teams. She was previously with Fortis.

Simon Hurt has been promoted to business development manager to head up the field-based business development executives

Daniel Andrews takes up the newly created role of key account manager focusing on developing business and fostering a closer relationship with MMA's larger intermediaries. He moves from his current position as travel manager, underwriting.

Sharon Taylor, operations manager, joins the marketing senior management team.
