Chris Woollam has been appointed UK development manager for Zurich Private Clients, the recently launched subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services.
Woollam joined as a senior account manager with Zurich Private Clients in July 2001.
CNA
Julian Enoizi has joined CNA's European operations. Based in Paris, Enoizi will act as European general counsel.
Enoizi joins CNA from AIG Europe where he has been vice president and deputy general counsel since 2000. Prior to that he spent five years at Chubb, as executive risk claims litigation manager and then as head of external affairs for Europe and assistant general counsel.
AUL
Agency Underwriting Limited (AUL) is taking on more staff following the expansion of its head office in Colchester.
Four new staff have been recruited to the property insurance division. Sally Mallett and Janice Ferguson join the underwriting team while Gaynor Exley has been appointed to deal with property claims and Helen Davy has joined the administration department.
Provident Insurance
Provident Insurance has appointed David Cahoon as head of business development. He joins from CGNU where he worked for 11 years in various management roles, including branch management, financial institution management and project management. He will be based at Provident's Halifax office.
Kiln
At the Kiln annual general meeting, David Gilchrist retired after 35 years with the company in a number of different capacities. He was well known as a leading non-marine underwriter at Lloyd's and as chief executive and chairman of Kiln.
Professor Ian Percy will succeed him. Percy is a member of the co-ordinating committee of the Treasury and DTI that was established to consider the repercussions of Enron for accounting and auditing. He is also a non-executive director of The Weir Group and Ricardo.

Sirius
Sirius Financial Systems has appointed Graham Higdon to the newly created role of partner development director. He brings to his new role 20 years of experience within the technology sector, and 16 years within insurance and financial services.
He joins Sirius from CMG where he was associate director. Prior to that, Higdon worked for software house Rand, where he was manager of insurance products with UK and European responsibility.

Pinsent Curtis Biddle
Tim Burton, the former head of legal at Benfield Group, has taken up his new role as national head of insurance and reinsurance at Pinsent Curtis Biddle.

Ince & Co has appointed Croatian lawyer Zoran Tasic. He previously worked at a City firm for 14 years - his practise is a mixture of ship finance and litigation as well as corporate finance.
Hill Dickinson
Hill Dickinson has promoted Adrian March to partner at its Manchester office. He becomes a partner in the marine and transit department, advising on marine cargo insurance and shipping litigation.

Keoghs has appointed Tim Percival to the new role of business development manager. He has 13 years' experience in development gained at firms such as Irwin Mitchell, Hammond Suddards and Shoosmiths.

Peter Hattersley has more than 35 years' experience in the insurance industry. A Fellow of The Chartered Insurance Institute he has held senior management positions in both provincial and national brokers including five years as managing director of Willis in Manchester and five years as chief executive of The Heath Group in the north of England.
David Malone has more than 17 years' experience in the insurance industry. For the past ten years he has held senior roles within Willis Manchester and latterly the Heath/Opus Group in the north of England.
Julian Shawcross has been involved in the insurance industry for more than 13 years and is nearing completion of the CII associateship examinations.

Alexander Forbes Professions has appointed Stuart Dugdill to its professional indemnity (PI) team. He has joined Alexander Forbes'
PI team in Manchester with his key responsibility being to spearhead new business development across the Midlands.
Dugdill was previously at Marsh Insurance Brokers, and started his career as a graduate trainee for the Royal & SunAlliance.

Axiom
Axiom Claims Consulting (Axiom) has appointed aviation reinsurance claims specialist Harry Pugh as claims director. Pugh has more than 30 years' experience in aviation reinsurance underwriting and claims management, including 24 years with a number of syndicates at Lloyd's including Syndicate 270 (Maylam) and Syndicate 839 (Chartwell).
He will be responsible for the team handling claims arising from the Nissan
Fire & Marine Insurance Company (Nissan) involvement in the Fortress Re pool, and all the claims handling for the events of 11 September 2001 that arise for Axiom's clients.

Derek Ross, formerly liability director at loss adjuster Property & Casualty Services (PCS), has joined Vincent Sherman Associates (VSA), the insurance fraud investigation subsidiary of Capcon Holdings, the AIM listed company.
He joins as technical director.
