Kwik Fit subsidiary completes first year trading.
Kwik Fit Insurance subsidiary company, The Green Insurance Company has completed its first year of trading.
Since launching one year ago, the Uddingston-based intermediary company has grown rapidly and now has more than 12,000 motor insurance customers on its books.
Originally employing a team of only 3, the company now employs 28 staff and hopes to recruit again in the near future.
Andrew McMillan, managing director, said: “Our mission is to make it easier for people to be more environmentally friendly in every day life.
"We wanted to create a company that’s different and for our customers and employees to feel part of something important, and I’m pleased to say that I think we’ve succeeded!”
Part of the unique appeal of The Green Insurance Company is its pledge to offset 100% of the carbon emissions generated by customers’ cars.
It has also pledged 5% of its annual profits to environmental and ethical causes.
