Large fleet owners can now benefit from cover offered to small and micro firms

Building on its Optima Small Fleet product, Groupama has enhanced its Fleet Policy so that owners of larger fleets can benefit from some of the cover previously only available to small and micro businesses.

The new enhancements will provide a sales tool for Groupama’s commercial brokers targeting the highly competitive SME market.

Groupama Fleet provides cover for fleets in excess of 15 vehicles, across many trades with highly competitive benefits. As a result of the changes, Groupama Fleet now includes:

• Enhanced overnight emergency accommodation or travel expenses

• New personal accident benefits

Following feedback from brokers and intermediaries, Groupama has also taken the opportunity to present the policy in much plainer English, creating more clarity for policyholders and making the policy even easier to sell.

Lynn Harris, Groupama’s head of customer proposition says: “Our strategy of obtaining broker feedback on our products and service on an ongoing basis means we can see immediate opportunities to refine and enhance our propositions to keep brokers one step ahead. This, along with the success of Optima Small Fleet has really driven these changes and demonstrates Groupama’s commitment to giving brokers the tools to compete effectively.”

For larger fleets, Groupama also offers access to a range of risk management facilities via Peak Performance Management. These include:

• Driver handbooks – a unique handbook to help policyholders meet their duty of care and inform all occupational drivers of their roles and responsibilities when driving

• All of a sudden workshops - examines the circumstances surrounding the most common types of road incidents. Participants ‘discover' driving behaviours and techniques that will help them avoid being involved in these common road incidents

• Behind the wheel - a structured training process designed to improve a driver's 'hands-on' driving skills, awareness of risk and management of the driving environment. Courses cover all types of vehicles

• Econdrive - designed at reducing direct motoring costs such as fuel economy and tyre wear

• Risk watch - enables the policyholder to train key personnel in how to conduct and implement an in-house driver risk assessment programme. Particularly useful if the policyholder has a high staff turnover and they want to assess the driver's ability before employment

• UK familiarisation - aimed at drivers from outside the UK who are not used to our road networks
