Allianz Cornhill is set to revamp its distribution strategy for commercial business.

The news comes as the insurer announced the appointment of former Camberford Law Network Extra boss Lloyd Hanks as broker development manager for Allianz Cornhill Commercial.

The new distribution strategy is currently being formulated by former Deloitte consultant John Warburton, who recently joined the insurer as sales and distribution manager.

Warburton said that the revamp would see the existing distribution strategy enhanced rather than paired down.

Paul Maidment, director of South and London trading for Allianz Cornhill, said that Hanks would "focus on the distribution strategy with smaller independent brokers".

Maidment said: "We've sorted out underwriting and we're now sorting out our operational service delivery.

"Next on the radar is marketing, sales and relationship development."

Hanks will join Allianz Cornhill in the summer, Warburton said.

Hanks left Camberford Law after the broker announced in April that it would merge its Network Extra proposition for small brokers with its main business.
