Joy Butler joins Hastings from Guardian Holdings

Hastings Direct has appointed Joy Butler as its new group financial controller.

Butler joins Hastings Direct from Guardian Holdings – the European insurance group which includes Zenith.

Butler has held senior financial positions at Legal and General and Odessey Re in the past.

Hastings Direct was the subject of a management buyout in February 2009.

Paul Pavey, finance director, Hastings Direct said: “Joy's financial and insurance experience will really enhance our capabilities and help drive the financial team to support the business as it enters the next phase of growth.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
