Two ex-Bluefin directors to help expansion plans

Heath Lambert has hired two former Bluefin directors to strengthen its expansion plans in the north west and nationally.

Both have over 20 years experience in the corporate client arena and have held senior risk and captive management roles.

Ron Doidge joins Heath Lambert in a senior client service role. He was formerly Regional Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director at SBJ/Bluefin and Willis respectively. Doidge led the major expansion of the SBJ/Bluefin North West operation and played a key role in the Willis Manchester growth.

He will also bring to Heath Lambert a breadth of knowledge ranging from broking through to risk management and captive utilisation.

Brenda Thwaites joins Heath Lambert in a senior client service role. She was formerly client servicing director at SBJ/Bluefin and Willis. Like Doidge, she has over 20 years in these roles and won and serviced major corporate clients in the North West and nationally.

Doidge said: “As the dialogue with Heath Lambert progressed it became clear that there was a similarity of business culture between Heath Lambert and that which I had been used to over many years - namely trading on the abilities, knowledge and expertise of its staff.

“There was a meeting of minds on how clients should be looked after and how a broking business should be run. Heath Lambert is business like and has a no-nonsense approach. I felt we could work well together.”

Heath Lambert director, retail national Tom Hayes, who heads the Manchester office, said: “By recruiting quality professionals such as Ron and Brenda, Heath Lambert proves that we are investing and adding to our successful core commercial insurance broking business in Manchester.”
