Heath Lambert personal lines division has won the contract to provide home insurance products to the readers of the Guardian and Observer newspapers.

Heath Lambert Insurance Services (HLIS) has been exclusively appointed by Observer and Guardian Enterprises, (OG Ents) to offer the new service, which will be launched on 5 March.

OG Ents promotes and offers financial services to Guardian and Observer readers. Under the deal, Heath Lambert has negotiated specific discounts across its household panel and "anticipates significant interest and take up of the offer from Guardian and Observer readers".

HLIS managing director Paul Smith said: "We pride ourselves on our ability to provide quality home insurance at competitive prices and we are delighted to have our beliefs validated after coming through a comprehensive and highly focused tender process.

"We look forward to working with OG Ents for many years to come."

Head of OG Ents Kate Morgan-Locke said the deal "builds on our current reader offers and strengthens our reader proposition to include high quality and affordable home insurance services".
