High-flying air ambulance doctor Heather Clark took the plunge for charity this week at the London Underwriting Centre (LUC).

She abseiled 168ft for the Design for Life Charity and was joined by professionals from insurance companies Zurich, CNA, Royal and SunAlliance and Sirius.

The group raised £20,000 for Design for Life, which is a charity that provides specialist equipment and instruction allowing people with disabilities to take part in adventure sports.

Sponsors of the event included AMEC Facilities, Barclays Bank, Profile Security and Seymour Valentine.

Dr Clark recently claimed fame by performing open heart surgery on the floor of a London pub.
