Wellington Underwriting has announced the appointment of Heather Thomas as general counsel and company secretary of Wellington and, subject to regulatory approval, compliance officer of Wellington Underwriting Agencies.
Thomas joins Wellington from Lovells, where she was a consultant to the insurance and reinsurance group from 1998.
Previously, she spent 16 years with the Willis Group as managing director of the legal and risk management department of Willis Corroon.
Preben Prebensen, chief executive of Wellington, said: “Heather brings a combination of very extensive legal experience and considerable knowledge of insurance which she has gained both as in-house counsel at Willis and during her time advising clients at Lovells.”
