The Faculty of Insurance Broking wants to raise levels of performance among brokers by pursuing technical excellence and the highest standards of ethical practice.

This was the message given to the CII's conference by David Slade of broker Perkins Slade, who heads the Faculty of Broking.

He said: "FSA regulation makes no mention of insurance broking, only of insurance mediation. It is up to brokers to make themselves stand out as a distinct profession, and we can do this through examinations, qualifications and a commitment to lifelong continuing professional development."

Lynn Richards-Cole, of broker Stanford & Wood, added: "There is no place for apathy in our industry. We must reacquaint ourselves with the concept of utmost good faith."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
