Motor insurer Highway has appointed Matt Taylor as specialist motor underwriter to grow Highway's specialist vehicle and non-standard private car account.

Reporting to motor products manager Scott Greenhill, Taylor will work closely with Highway's distribution team to help develop non-standard products and bespoke schemes.

Commenting on the appointment, underwriting director David Murray said: “Matt is well known in the specialist vehicle market and many of our brokers will already know him. He brings with him nine years' experience in the insurance industry, four of which have been in underwriting.

"We are actively looking to develop our non-standard business and therefore Matt's appointment is great news for Highway and our brokers.”

Prior to his appointment, Taylor worked for KGM Motor Policies at Lloyd's where he was a deputy specialist vehicle underwriter responsible for generating schemes and broker relationships. He was also a referral point for their underwriting team and brokers.
