Cox subsidiary HML Marketing has launched a product designed for the placement of terrorism insurance.

The product was developed in conjunction with Beech Underwriting, said HML.

HML Terrorism Insurance will only be available to HML appointed insurance brokers.

Cover will be available for residential lets, blocks of flats, private houses, pubs, restaurants, shops, hotels and nightclubs located in the UK, Eire, the Isle of Man, continental Europe, and the Channel Islands, said HML.

In addition, cover will also be available for unoccupied properties, stock throughput policies, contractors all risks, employers' liability extension, public liability extension, and first loss cover.

HML managing director Rodney Boot said: “After recent world events, insurers introduced new war and terrorism exclusions to their policy wordings, which meant that terrorism cover was no longer included as part of the primary policy.

“We have identified the needs of both corporate and private policyholders and have taken the decision to offer a value added service within this very specialist area of the market.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
