Howden has launched a "high-profile" advertising campaign in a bid to expand its medical indemnity business.

The publicity drive, which includes roadshows and magazine campaigns, will target doctors, dentists, osteopaths and other clinical and non-complemen-tary professionals.

The broker hopes as a result to increase its share of the medical insurance market, which has been dominated by mutual protection societies.

Howden marketing director Matthew Reed told Insurance Times: "There are about 35,000 GPs and 20,000 dentists in the UK. What we are doing is slowly building up our medical indemnity product, and at the end of three years we hope to provide cover for around 10% of GPs and up to 30% of dentists."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
