Lloyd's broker appoints business development manager

Howden has appointed Vlada Barratt as business development manager, Central and Eastern Europe.

In this new role, Barratt will be responsible for developing relationships with existing clients in the region in addition to identifying and acquiring new opportunities.

Tim Coles, chief executive of Howden, said: “Our international team has made significant headway in this exciting region.

"Vlada’s appointment will support our continued drive into existing territories as well as opening the door into new ones. Her knowledge and understanding of the individual countries and cultures will prove invaluable as we seek to grow our presence further.

“The entire region is continuing to experience tremendous change, both socially and economically, and its businesses are facing new exposures as they expand beyond its borders.

"Poland, for example, is one of the fastest growing economies in the region and yet there is little expertise in liability insurance. We believe there are significant opportunties for specialist brokers.”

Barratt joins the business from MAI Central Eastern Europe where she was a producing broker within the reinsurance solutions division for six years.
