3,000 homes damaged, agriculture and roads damaged

Hungary’s interior minister Sandor Pinter says floods last month and this caused up to 100 billion forint (€350m) in damage, Dow Jones reports.

More than 3,000 homes were damaged, causing up to HUF10 billion of damage, he said. Losses to the agricultural sector were estimated to be HUF27 billion and the cost of road damage was put at HUF10 billion.

Pinter said the government was preparing to apply for European Union aid, but didn't specify exactly how much Hungary would ask for.
