FWD's Ian Barrett wasn't the only insurance man to suffer from vicious rumours recently.

Like Barrett, rumours of Kinnect chairman Iain Saville's demise have been circulating. From a career perspective that is, rather than actual death.

The Lloyd's press office has been bombarded with calls from national as well as trade press asking what has happened to the great man, after various market sources visiting the Kinnect office had seen Saville's desk cleared.

Backchat has been told, officially, that Saville has a house in the south of France and takes at least three weeks off a year to spend time there. Lloyd's used the time he was away to move his office up two floors. He's back now and ensconced in the new office.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
