ABI appoints new chairman
David Henderson has been appointed chairman of the Association of British Insurers' IFA Life Offices Group. He plans to strengthen the groups role in the polarisation debate and further develop the relationship with the Association of Independent Financial Advisers. Henderson has also been appointed chairman of the board of Pension Advisers Support System.

Bayliss & Cooke joins Wrightsure
Hampshire brokers Bayliss & Cooke Commercial brokers has merged with bus and coach insurance specialists the Wrightsure Group. The combined group which has offices in Essex, Liverpool and now Fareham, has a total of 40 staff and a turnover of £18m. Wrightsure managing director Ron Powell said its partnership with Bayliss & Cooke Commercial will strengthen its position on the south coast of England.

British Reserve joins Classic FM
Musical instrument insurer British Reserve Insurance, a division of Cornhill, is sponsoring Classical FM's Music Teacher of the Year 2000 awards. The programme aims to highlight the achievements of classroom music teachers. Last year's winner was Rob Whale, head of music at Bradfield School in Sheffield, who runs a 40-piece wind band and 35-piece orchestra.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
