Gary Lineker-backed telematics provider targets young drivers
Telematics provider Ingenie has announced a partnership with Vauxhall Motors, to provide insurance for 17 – 25 year old drivers when they purchase a car from a Vauxhall dealership.
‘Vauxhall Insurance powered by Ingenie’ is the first time a major motor manufacturer has embraced telematics based car insurance and put their name against it.
In a statement on their website, Ingenie said that after full year of operating, the most popular car they cover is the Vauxhall Corsa, so a partnership with the car manufacturer was “clearly the right move”.
Brand new and used-approved vehicles will be eligible for telematics policies for young drivers, and the scheme is underwritten by Ageas.
Ingenie chief executive Richard King said: “Young drivers find it increasingly difficult to buy affordable car insurance and Ingenie offers a fairer solution that assesses them on their own merits. With one in five of our driver community choosing a Vauxhall Corsa, the partnership with Vauxhall is a perfect fit.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
