Predictions of future sales growth pumps up share prices

A Merrill Lynch upgrade for RSA highlighting cash generation, sales growth prospects and global diversification helped lift RSA shares by 2% to 135¾p, the FT reports.

The Times said Aviva gained 3½p to 461½p, Legal & General rose ½p to 88½p and Prudential was up 7p to 639p after an upbeat note from Nomura. Nomura said the fall in UK insurance sales over the past three quarters is likely to slow as consumer confidence recovers.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
