Underwriting agency Iprism has joined forces with Gocompare.com to offer the first commercial insurance comparison site offered through a mainstream aggregator.

The white label tie-up is the first in a series of corporate partnerships to be announced by Iprism this year, according to Iprism chief executive Gary Burke.

As of December, brokers and SMEs will be able to obtain commercial insurance quotes from up to 15 different insurers by clicking through the Gocompare.com home page to a white-labelled version of the Iprism site.

Iprism, which has underwriting authority for 10 insurers, will offer commercial products such as retail, office, property and commercial combined.

Burke said Iprism was looking to write between £5m and £10m GWP in 2008 through its partnership with Gocompare.

He said: “In the commercial arena, you can’t find anything like this. We are the first to market on this and we have real solid interest from the corporate partner world, and brokers really like this. There are a number of deals in the pipeline for us.”

Burke said over the next two years, Iprism would sign up 1,000 more brokers to its agency and form eight new corporate partnerships, as part of plans to reach its goal of £100m GWP per annum.

Burke said Iprism expected most of the site’s users to be brokers, but it anticipated great interest from individual SMEs.
