I read with dismay Andy Homer's article (23 January, Insurance Times). As I understand it, the CII is currently paying very little attention to its CPD mandate. I am told that there are, literally, hundreds of CII chartered titleholders out there who, on being asked to demonstrate (by completing their CPD logs) that they have, indeed, continued to develop professionally, have failed so to do.

The CII has taken no action against such individuals - they continue to be able to use the chartered titleholder denomination.

If the CII doesn't value the status, why should anybody else?
