Poaching wars return as JLT appoint Aon’s risk head

Jardine Lloyd Thompson has appointed former Aon head of global profession Michael Silcock to its financial risk division.

Insurance Times understands fellow members of Silcock’s Aon team including Patrick Strange, Nicholas Gilbert, Michael Perry and Stuart Magnion may also be following closely behind.

JLT paid an undisclosed sum to Aon in July following a heated legal battle which started when former Aon Ltd deputy chairman Jonathan Palmer-Brown quit to join JLT in July last year.

Since then, a number of other brokers within Aon’s aviation team have landed at JLT, including team leaders Bill Smith ,Steve Turner and client executive John Cruse.

These latest recruits also follow on from January’s raid which saw Aon heads Mark Wood, Sarah Hughes and Adam Codrington join JLT's financial risks division
