Poor snow conditions have led to an increase in travel insurance claims, InsureandGo has reported.

The travel insurance specialist has estimated that there were 11,000 medical claims over the past two months relating to skiing and snowboarding.

InsureandGo's Perry Wilson said: “Europe has seen one of the warmest winters on record which has meant that pistes have become more prone to rocks and ice, contributing to more injuries. It has also meant that many more skiers and snowboarders are tackling off-piste runs which are more difficult to manage and increase the chances of an injury occurring — especially if you are inexperienced.

“In addition to this, those resorts where there is good snow are becoming more crowded, increasing the chances of suffering an accident through collision.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
