Lloyd's managing agency Liberty has appointed a three-man specialist reinsurance team from Gerling.
Liberty said it expects the appointments to strengthen the agency's position. The team will join Syndicate 282.
Dieter Winkel, Gaby Weiler and Bernd Burelbach will join Liberty on December 1. Winkel will lead Syndicate 282, whille Weiler and Burelbach will be deputy reinsurance underwriters for 282.
Sean Dalton, managing director of Liberty, said: "We have been looking for a quality reinsurance team for some time to complement the book written by Andrew Elliott."
Dieter Winkel said: "It is exciting to be joining a Lloyd's syndicate and in particular Liberty where we will have the opportunity to continue our existing underwriting approach and strategy."
