Lloyd's brokers and underwriters certainly have a taste for the traditional.
During last week's National Sausage Week, it emerged the 300-year-old market has its own banger. Since the new canteen opened in September, catering firm Avenance has been frying 220 of its special sausages a day.
The Lloyd's Sausage, which is made of beef, mushroom, tarragon and tomato, is the favourite meal on the menu, with the all-day breakfast (also containing sausages) coming a close second.
Avenance head chef Donald Marshall said: "It's a classic sausage for a classic establishment."
Apparently Cumberland and chilli sausages are also served. Marshall has revealed he is discussing a new arrival - the curry banger.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
