The Lloyd's Market Association (LMA) catastrophe co-ordination committee is investigating the problem of loss adjuster resources.

The committee is currently conducting an "information gathering exercise" into the issue, which was identified as a problem following the high number of catastrophic events during the Atlantic hurricane season last year.

The LMA said the process would identify what could be done to address the problem, but that what form its recommendations would make was "not yet known".

The committee was established in 1996 and meets monthly during the hurricane season. It includes members from the marine, aviation and non-marine markets.
