Aon deputy chairman Jonathan Palmer-Brown succeeds Stephen Matanle

Aon deputy chairman Jonathan Palmer-Brown has been elected chairman of the London Market Insurance Brokers’ Committee (LMBC).

Jonathan has previously served as chairman of the Aviation Executive of the LMBC and succeeds Stephen Matanle, who recently joined Libero Ventures, a subsidiary of Lehman Brothers.

Commenting on the appointment, Jonathan said: “It is a great privilege to have been elected chairman of LMBC and I will look to serve the broking community’s interests with energy and integrity.

“There are many significant and testing issues to be addressed, including delivery of the market reform agenda, the FSA paper on transparency, the EU Competition report on subscription markets and transparency and proposals for a legislative reform order to amend the Lloyd’s Act. Our role at the LMBC is to work to resolve these issues satisfactorily for our constituency and I look forward to aiding that process.”

Before joining Aon in 1997, Palmer-Brown was a director of Nicholson Jenner Leslie and chairman of Nicholson Jenner Leslie Aviation, having begun his career at Stewart Smith in 1968.
