Broker hires former Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander boss

Lockton has hired a well-known figure from the Birmingham banking industry to boost its presence in the Midlands broker market.

Trevor Foster, managing director of banking at Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander, becomes Lockton’s regional chairman while Garry Moseley has been promoted to managing partner.

The broker’s Birmingham office currently employs 33 staff.

Chris Brown, Lockton’s retail executive chairman, said the two appointments would allow the company to boost its reputation in the Midlands.

“Our focus is on delivering great client service and both Garry and Trevor will continue to drive and enhance this strategy. I am delighted they are leading our business in this key area of the country,” he said.

Moseley said that Foster was “a great addition” to the Lockton team, while Foster said he was thrilled to be joining the company.

“It is another example of an international firm targeting Birmingham as a regional centre and looking to develop. That is brilliant for Birmingham, particularly at such a difficult economic time,” concluded Moseley.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
