Broker launches two new household products

Broker Marcus Hearn, part of the CBG Group, has launched two new household underwriting facilities for sub-agents.

Both the Flex and Elite products have been secured from home insurance specialist Plum Underwriting and are underwritten at Lloyd’s.

Flex covers a wide range of non-standard householder risks including householders with previous claims records, non-standard occupations, subsidence, properties of non-standard construction, previous convictions and many other similar risks.

Elite is aimed at the mid-net worth household and thus offers a wider range of cover as part of the standard policy.

Marcus Hearn director Peter Drummond, said: “Unlike the majority of providers we are not reducing our commission levels for the non-standard Flex product. Add to this our fast and efficient service and we are definitely a viable alternative to our sub-agents’ existing markets.”

David Whitaker, director of Plum Underwriting, said: “Easy access to market leading non-standard and mid net worth household cover is essential for brokers looking to build their businesses in the current climate. We are therefore delighted to partner with Marcus Hearn to provide their sub-agents with both excellent products and commission levels.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
