PDA devices improve performance

Martindales has adopted handheld PDA devices for its field-based activities, improving client data protection and increasing performance.

The adoption of PDA devices for field operatives allows increased control of the appointment and reporting processes; a strong audit trail; improved customer data protection and reduced claims lifecycle times.

The PDA system also takes photographs and allows the recording of accurate data, which can be transmitted in real time.

The system will be adopted in an arrangement between Martindales and Excel Security, an emergency out of hours securing partner.

Paul Vernon, operations director at Martindales, said: "While all glazing service providers in this market utilise the services of out of hours securing partners to some degree, Martindales is the first to have them operating through the same controls and PDA technology as our in-house teams.

"The value of the data protection aspect cannot be emphasised enough - the carrying around of customer details on paper should really be a thing of the past, but, believe it or not, is still prevalent elsewhere in the market."
