Justin Jacobs (ABI) is wrong to say that Malcolm Corbett is wrong (Letters, 1 September) and then make the comment that insuring the vehicle and not the driver "is likely to lead to more deaths on the road", apart from the fact that he seems to have missed the bigger points being made by Malcolm, myself and a lot of others.

Of course making it an offence to keep a vehicle without insurance is the easiest option and will solve everything, apart from the fact that the vehicle still has NO insurance.

Yes our industry is competitive, which is one of the reasons consumers are misled into thinking motor insurance cover is all the same, when it is far from it. It is, or should be, our job to not just sell but to educate as well.
