Specialist team to address thousands of unresolved cases

Medical evidence provider Mobile Doctors Limited has reached an agreement with administrators Myles Halley and Jane Moriaty of KPMG to undertake all ongoing IMS Litigation Services Ltd and IMS Legal Indemnity Ltd cases following its collapse last week.

IMS was forced into administration, potentially leaving thousands of cases involving claimants, insurers and solicitors across the UK in disarray. Mobile Doctors has taken control of IMS’ work-in-progress cases and dedicated a specialist team to manage the process.

Matthew Game, Chief Executive at Mobile Doctors, comments:
“The IMS case management system and database is extremely fragmented, and in some cases records have not been updated for many months. At this point in time, it is difficult to give an exact figure of how many cases the company was progressing; however, it is likely to run into thousands.

“We are focused on minimising, as far as possible, potential case delays and correcting any problems caused before IMS went into administration. We are working with all parties to try and rectify the situation but it will require considerable time and effort to bring this database into order and to uncover all the issues that need to be resolved.”
