Newly-formed internet insurance venture Global Transport & Insurance Services has signed-up five London market marine insurers, including Lloyd's syndicates, to

provide up to 14 liability products on its web portal.

The website will offer real-time quotations and online policy documentation, alongside conventional broker-based distribution, to the global transport industry.

The portal, gtilink.com, plans to launch its first product in January.

GTI Services marketing director Mark Jones said: “Our distribution strategy will be tailored to each product depending on factors such as average transaction value, price sensitivity and complexity.”

He added that GTI is also in the process of finalising agreements with major insurance brokers to provide agency networks.
