Property repair network Multiassistance is to train all its customer-facing staff to CII Foundation Insurance Test (FIT) standards in order to align its service standards with FSA requirements.

The company said that even though it will not be directly regulated, it is required to prove its competence as a supplier of services to companies who will be regulated.

Multiassistance sales and marketing director James Grant said: “Many of our insurance clients are cascading their responsibilities to us in an effort to align the whole supply chain with the requirements of FSA regulation."

To achieve this level of competency, Multiassistance will require all staff to undertake a minimum level of training across all customer-facing roles.

This includes a formal induction carried out during the first three weeks of employment and studying for FIT.
