They say that everyone loves a sailor and, unforturnately for Churchill Insurance worker Andy Dixon, that was the case on ITV's Blind Date.

Andy (pictured middle) narrowly lost out to the jolly jack tar when contestant Rachel from London had to choose who was to take her on a dream date.

Keen-eyed viewers would have spotted Andy's moment of TV fame when the show was broadcast April 21.

Six-foot tall Andy, a customer services assistant at Churchill's Teeside office, reportedly caused a stir among the TV audience with his large frame and Geordie humour.
