A pan-European network of replacement windscreen specialists is being put together to meet customer demand.
One of the UK's largest replacement providers, National Windscreens is behind the move and has visited a number of firms on the continent to progress the idea.
"We are exploring opportunities for creating networks with like minded organisations in Europe and beyond to create a positive sales advantage in the minds of the insurance industry," said managing director Malcolm Dutton.
Dutton has just returned from fact finding missions to Italy, Holland, Germany and France where he met delegations of windscreen independents.
"Policyholders are saying they need a pan-European provider, not a national service. So it is vital we meet this demand and we are anxious to assist independents elsewhere in Europe do the same," he added.
National already has partnerships established in Scandinavia, Spain and Portugal and the Benelux countries.
