Internet company received more than 230 replies from brokers on the first day of offering to trial its new internet-based quotation system.

The system lets insurers create their own products, which brokers can download in under six seconds using the internet.

To use the service, insurers license a stand-alone system called This allows them to create new products and carry out price changes instantaneously.

The system is free to brokers. To use the service, brokers have to register with insurE-com, which then gives them secure access to insurE-com's portal for the cost of a local phone call.

The company claims the system provides a faster, cheaper alternative to existing proprietary systems.

It currently provides quotations for motor insurance, but household, marine, commercial and other personal lines are expected to follow.

InsurE-com was launched last month and followed up with a direct marketing campaign to brokers.
