Nick Starling has been appointed as the new director of general insurance at the ABI. He joins the trade body from the Health and Safety Executive, where he is currently director of policy programmes.
Starling will take up his new role on 4 January and replaces Jane Milne, who has been in the role temporarily since John Parker's departure in August.
Starling said: "My understanding of risk management and work with widely differing sectors across the economy have given me a keen appreciation of the importance of the general insurance industry."
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
