Repair shops are set to benefit from improved negotiating power following the publication of the UK Body Repair Industry Guide.
The guide includes advice from repair shops, key statistics and details on how to attract accident repair claims.
RMI bodyshop director Bob Hood said: "I urge repairers to make full use of these exceptional guides.
"They have been produced to help bodyshops succeed in a business environment where many fail. The UK body repair industry is an extremely complicated and difficult market sector in which to make a living.
"The guides have been produced to track the effects of operating cost inflation and costs and procedures associated with meeting exceptional customer demands in bodyshops.
"If the carefully researched terms are implemented in full, they will provide a net return of 8%, which given current state of the sector is exactly the profit boost the industry requires."
